ABSTRACT: Early childhood education (ECE) plays a crucial role in developing reliability among young children, which is essential for their social and academic success. This study investigates how ECE programs influence the development of reliability. The objectives are to (1) assess the reliability of children in ECE programs, (2) evaluate the impact of reliability-focused activities in ECE settings, and (3) compare the reliability levels of children who attend ECE programs with those who do not. A survey design was chosen to collect quantitative data on reliability and qualitative insights from teachers and parents. A purposive sample of 130 children from preschools in Bayelsa State was selected. The case study focuses on preschools with strong reliability-promoting initiatives. Findings indicated that children attending ECE programs exhibited higher levels of reliability compared to those not in such programs. Reliability-focused activities were highly effective. Recommendations include integrating structured reliability activities into ECE curricula and training educators to foster reliability among young children.
